A rare bit of UK soul from Rick Clarke – a sweet little set that's got a nicely lean feel – part of that 80s UK style of R&B that really seemed to set the scene for the coming years that would give the world artists like Omar and Soul II Soul! The groove here definitely echoes some of the kick of the latter – a focus on drum machine beats, spare basslines, and keyboards that underscore Rick's vocals in a great way, and never overwhelm them. The homegrown approach makes the whole thing a really timelessly appealing set – done in collaboration with Peter Hinds, on cuts that include "If You Think You're In Love", "Better Luck Next Time", "Grooving On", "Time Keeps Moving On", "See You Along The Way", "Don't Say A Word", and "I Wanted Your Love".
