A great set of mellow soul from the start of the 80s – not the Positive
Force of "We Got The Funk" fame, but a different groove that has a
nicely smooth groove! The style here is halfway between soul and AOR,
but handled with an indie charm that really keeps things compelling –
all original songs all the way through, and all graced with top-shelf
vocals from Denise Vallin – who really knows how to fit the mood of the
tunes! Instrumentation is tight, but never slick – mostly in a jazzy
mode with warm keyboards, sax lines, and guitar – with added help from a
bigger group here and there. Titles include "Too Much Love", "The One I
Love", "Give Me A Sign", "Take Some Time Out", "You Told Me You Loved
Me", "I Think Of You", "Put It In The Groove", and "You Gotta Know".
