The London group Central Line were among the better English soul
ensembles of the early '80s. Vocalist/percussionist Linton Breckles,
bassist/vocalist
Camelle Hinds, keyboardist
Lipson Francis, and guitarist
Henry Defoe
had a number of moderately successful releases on Mercury, with their
biggest American hit, "Walking Into Sunshine," in 1981. It made the
R&B Top 20, peaking at 14.
