Gwen Guthrie didn't have as much success when she moved to Warner Bros. as she'd enjoyed in the mid-'80s with Polydor. This album did get her one moderate hit, but overall, it didn't have either the solid grooves of past albums or any real definitive ballad. She sang as strongly as before, but was unable to really get her focus on this one.
