Lakeside - Party Patrol 1990
Lakeside found that almost no funk fans were around in the early '90s, certainly not enough to keep them dominating the charts. This was among their lowest-selling albums ever, and it never got much airplay or exposure. Funk, especially '70s and '80s funk, was at its nadir, and they also didn't have a particularly good crop of songs. The production and arrangements were decent, and their collective vocals were competent, but there was no spark or energy in the performances and no standout single to pull that might have saved the album.
